buying safes at fixture sale at Toys 'R Us

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

buying safes at fixture sale at Toys 'R Us

I'm going to stop by my local Toys R Us this weekend and ask the manager to see when they think there might be a fixture sale and if there are any safes for sale.

It may be a good opportunity for anyone else here looking to get some commercial safes as they are closing 700 stores.

Anyone here buy locks or safes from a store closing before? What was your experience like?

My attempt to purchase a safe from the local Macy’s that closed did not go well. The seller limited pre sale access, the safe had to be out in a short amount of time after they completed their liquidation sale, and there were restrictions at the mall which route I could take. The liquidation company also valued the safe a bit more than I was willing to pay.

The last two times I tried to buy a safe from a closing large store, it turns out the safes were built-in. :(

I haven't stopped by mine since I posted originally, but I drove by it yesterday and it's still open. I wonder what they would say to a random person walking in asking about it. probably call the cops on me... lol..

I was in our local Baby's R US the other day and they had slips of paper that you filled out and dropped in a box if you want any of the store fixtures. You were to check off the items you were interested in. One of the boxes was for the store safe.
When I finally leave this world.. Will someone please tell my wife what I have REALLY spent on locks ...
