Handcuff master key

The entire video was pretty entertaining, but, if you're just interested in a key that should open most of you collection go to 38:20 in the video

With regards to the dimensions of this "master key" can anyone tell me how to get the .3mm cut in the middle? Deviant states they use a Dremel tool but I don't have anything in my Dremel kit that makes a cut that thin.

you know, just making a slot in the middle using a standard hacksaw blade is really all you need to do, it doesn't have to be down the thousandth of an inch.

or look at a real ASP key and copy what they did. https://www.handcuffwarehouse.com/ASP-H ... y-Key.html

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I never heard back from Deviant on Twitter, but I wonder if the drawing for the master key is incorrect. .3mm just sounds incredibly small. Even the smallest Dremel engraving tool I have is .7mm and the smallest cutting wheel is around .5 mm.

When this was presented at DEF CON many years ago, Deviant made keys for people after the talk and he used this: https://www.dremel.com/en_US/products/-/show-product/accessories/545-diamond-wheel. I've made several with it since and they've all worked perfectly. In the US, the ASP two pawl cuffs are about all you will see and a S&W key with the notch made this way works perfectly on those as well.

Thanks very much Brian. I noticed the thickness on this diamond wheel is .6 mm so I can finally stop looking for something that cuts a .3 mm slot. I also noticed it says "not for metal" but it appears it has worked for you so that is what I will use.

I bet the slot could be larger as well. If needing to cut a slot .3mm down to .15mm(8/0), Try a Jewellers saw:
