thats basically how it works, the more pins the harder. Kee[ picking until you can get 5 pins.

I made a pick from a hacksaw blade and an allen key for a wrench; I go and try it out on my safe (small one with a standard lock with about 5 pins I think). Anyway, after 5 minutes I opened the safe right up, once i'd worked out how to position things and how to pick the things correctly.

This was my first ever pick, kinda scary how after 5 minutes I could of broken into something which holds money, I can do that lock in about 10 seconds now I know what to do, just keep practising.

Oh, I only started picking last week too. :D

Congratulations Void! You are now hooked. :D

The first successful pic, is the best. Now, you need to challenge yourself on other locks that resist picking.

Read this forum, and learn all you can from it.

Best wishes!

Thanks :).

I need to get a hold of some other locks, theirs some on my windows in the house which seem to have picks on both sides, they look tricky :).

I guess so, it's actually as if the key is mirrored on both sides (though theirs a small notch at the top of one side so it only goes in one way). The general impression is like this:

It's a euro lock and their pretty new windows so I guess thats why.

The key has on it:

Winlock
England
80007

but I can't find any info about Winlock at all.

80007 probaply is the cut depths on the key, does the blade of the key (part you insert in the lock) look like this:
______
\/ \/

it is probably a 5pin judging from the number po the pins would fit like this on the key:

[] [] [] [] [] <-- bottom pins
______
\/ \/

No not really, I found their website, the key is the same as the one in the picture:
http://www.winlock.1uk.com/new/htdocs/p13t1.asp

I'll take a picture tommorow of the key if that's no help. The site gives the technical details anyway.

Almost like that; though it's hard to see inside the lock as its small to tell about the pins theirselves.
