Ace/Chicago Tubular Pick in mm?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Thanks Gordon, Looks like it should work well, The Top Tool in your photo is what I am waiting for. What Do you use the bottom 2 tools for? I find pointed not so good as it easily slips off the pin?
Whats your thoughts on a Comb Pick for tubular?. Only Problem I see is maybe not being able to push pins far enough in the Bible.

Got another 7.8mm, it is a too small 7.8mm, going to try to enlarge. What a pain.

The bottom two picks are both picks made for me. The one with a bamboo handle is a dimple pick made by Femurat. The lower one was made for picking automotive wafer locks and sent to me to try out.

Never considered a comb pick for tubular.

I figured the 1 was for dimple, and the other for wafer, but thought you had put to use on Tubular? The Comb Pick should work so long as all can fit in Bible. Haven't see a Pinning Tray for Tubular, If I ever get a Moment, Like to make one look like The Sun? Could even be on the Backside of a wooden pinning tray I already have.
Also like to have one of the Machinist Here Make a Tubular Pick. Will have to see how to get photos on here, It will basically be a Tube within a Tube, The Center Tube is same diameter as center Post with the small protrusion to allow Turning, The outer tube, Knurled would be nice to allow easy turning with 1 spot at the bottom with a little bump on it. with having center piece in the outer tube, it will be the tension wrench, Maybe a Pin through the end to allow turning easier, more controllable, then with tension applied, rotate the bump to each of the pins. finding the shear, then open. Center tube about 6", outer pick tube about 4", Currently looking for suitable tubes. The tool you mention is perfect. going to grind down tire depth guage when I get it. Thanks for the Input.

That tire depth Guage in June 9th post, fits and works as is. Found length to Picked Pin to face of lock in a online Desert Publications PDF. Pin 1--.230, 2--.215, 3--.200, 4--.185, 5--.170, 6--.155, 7--.140. Will test out later to see if it works to make a key. Sure should?

Please let us know about that picked pin to face of lock measurement and how it works. I measure from back of lock keyway to face of picked pin.

Found an HPC tubular pick on eBay, for about $70, works Excellent, have the Metal "T" looking metal decoder, and the plastic decoder, The tire guage I ground down a little bit to fit easily. I just need to score marks with razor knife, the spacing is so close, don't want to screw it up, only want one good set of lines. Feel it will work. May be able to have guage go to back of lock for the reference, if from face of lock doesn't work.
