Special blanks for SFIC control keys.

Postby tpark » 9 Jul 2018 19:18

A while ago I saw a padlock for sale that came with a control key with a large, specially shaped bow on it.

Does anyone know where to get these blanks? Of course I can simply use a regular blank for the control key, but I thought it would be cool to have the special control blanks.

The one shown is A profile, but I would be interested in other keyways as well. I didn't see them listed at the regular places I buy from, so they might be a special item.

Thanks,

--Ted.

They should do it,

They show four different Best sections. Am sure if you ask for them in A, they will do it.

Best still makes them. You can probably order them through a distributor.

Are you interested enough to buy a box of 50? I think that will be your minimum order.

'm good with ordering 50, and I don't mind waiting for them. I have a number of cores and a couple of padlocks from Amoco (I'm pretty sure the control key in that picture is for the BM XXX series) and I would like to have an authentic style control key just because. Sadly, I don't have the original master or control keys, only a couple of the original change keys. It's still cool to have the old brass shackle padlocks though. I was told by the person who gave these items to me that these padlocks were used to lock up bulk products.

Gordon's suggestion is good too, but for this I would like to have the genuine thing, still if I can't get them I can get generic head keys too.

BTW the blanks don't come with control stamped on them. They just have the large square bow. They can be used for any type of SFIC key.
Part number is 3A1x1 where x is the keyway. List price is 5.20 each

Thanks for looking into that for me! I didn't know about the code being 3A1X1 either.
