I guess for the moment I’ll have to do these one at a time. The thrust of the adventure would be getting a mental picture of what the locking mechanism might look like on the inside, and with that ,whether it’s three numbers or four, and whether it’s lrlr or rlrl. The dial is straight at 18, but idk if that has any meaning. So many questions, so little knowledge...

Well thanks bitbuster. And thanks to squelchtone too. And everyone I suppose.
Being a fire safe I suppose most of it is concrete, and that’s where the weight comes from? My limited experience says it feels like a four wheel.
Any insight for dialing would be greatly appreciated. The handle being under the dial makes me wonder how it operates.
I imagine I sound like anyone else who wanders in off the street, and there’s no substitute for years of accumulated knowledge, but I hope I can be pointed in the right direction. I like old stuff, and I like making old stuff work again. More later- it’s tee time!
