Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

LOCKED CHUBB AUSTRALIA DUAL COMBINATION SAFE

Hi guys. I’m brand new to the forum but I’m hoping someone may be able to help me with a safe I recently acquired, nobody has the combination or change keys. I would really like to put it back into service without damaging it, and ultimately use it. It’s a dual combination Chubb 2000kg bankers safe. Is there any combinations that might be worth trying? I’m assuming it’s a 4 number combination, is that right?
Also are they made so that you can unlock the first dial and progress to the second dial and then the open the door? If someone could tell me the correct dialing procedure as well that would be awesome too!
Any help would be greatly appreciated & if you’re close to the Southern Highlands NSW beers will definitely be included.
Cheers!

Your best bet is to hire a safe technician. At this time, manipulation information is restricted to the advanced forums. And making 50 posts in two days is not going to get someone into advanced.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I’ve been quoted over $2000 by 2 seperate safe techs to open the safe for me. Money I cant justify nor have to spend.
I pulled the handle off and found a serial number which I don’t think helps much.

It’s starting to frustrate me, I really wanna try learn how to crack it myself now. Having a two tonne brick in my driveway I can’t use isn’t fun haha.
How does one get into the advanced forums?

And if youre in the advanced forums I don’t think it is easy to open the safe. There is a lot to know, feel and hear and you must be trained. I don’t believe in that forum you read: step one:....., step two:.... etc and step 10: ”now your safe is open”.
But yes, it is a start. Hope your brick will open in 2019 by your self! Nice goal to set!
I have two “goals” at home and hope to open in 2019.

Not overly familiar with Chubb safe locks. Have to ask those in the forum who are more familiar with them. Are those actual Chubb locks, or are they Kromer locks with Chubb coins in the middle of the dials.

I ask because of the gap between 100 and 0 on the dials. Yes, am familiar with the reason for the gap in numbering to prevent the last number of the combination being in the drop zone, which can cause a lockout.

I assume these are big Chubb locks. Chubb made also dials with a number space.

I think many here have had a lock or safe they couldn't open for years, then after tinkering, researching, training, finally get it, Don't rush it. Good Luck
Found a safe after Hurricane Irma, Digital keypad was destroyed, took 2 months, found 1 penny inside? I'll likely add a Mechanical dial.
