Old churchdoor lock

Old churchdoor lock

At least the seller told me it was a late 1800 chruch door lock. What do you think?
I can’t find any numbers or letters.
Its about 10 inch. (26cm)

Very interesting. Love those old warded locks.

Is it a trick of the picture, or is the central ward for the middle of the key broken loose?

I’m not sure what you mean. All I know that everything works and nothing is loose :D
I removed on the back a plate with 2 screws so I could show the inside.

I was referring to your first picture. Now that I am looking using a computer instead of my phone, can see that there is no broken part. Was referring to the warding in that picture in the center of the key blade.

Wish that kind of lock was available in my area. But the United States is a new country by most European standards.

You see how you could pick it? Besides a pick, looks like if a little access to the bolt, could work it back with the tip of a knife?

I did not try picking but that should work. Only it is a heavy bolt so you should give a lot of presure I think.....
