American combanation lock

Have a keyed American Combanation lock, have picked it open. Can the combanation be decoded with it opened?

I know Master Combination locks once opened(key or shimed), you can look down shackle, pry pawl back for better view, dial combo so slots line up, used to add 11 to get correct combo in early days, different now I believe. So if slots line up at 10, 20, 30. Then try 11, 21, 31, and so on. Good Luck.
