First off, I would've posted this in the bypass section, but I do not have access, so please be patient with me.
I've seen a variety of dealers with mica sheets at different prices. Are there notable differences between quality of mica sheets and, if so, does anyone have a preferred vendor based on experience with different brands?
Thanks.

If you don't have access, that doesnt mean you go post it somewhere else. It's just a topic you cant discuss yet, sorry. you're brand new here and and first posts are about mica bypass sheets. I see you are from TOOOL and I used to run TOOOL Boston, so welcome to the forum, but we really police our own here to make sure info posted amongst friends isnt easily searchable by someone up to no good. we just cant post certain topics in public. If you're *only* looking for product reviews, then we can probably offer places to get supplies, but those threads usually end up with people giving wayyyy too many specifics on how to use the product as well, so we just draw a line where no discussion is safer than a little discussion. Thanks for understanding. Squelchtone Forum Mismanagement

I have a few different types of shims in my toolbox, the thinnest is made from stainless steel, next thick is made of plastic-- the 'mica' sheets I have are thicker than either but very useful at times nonetheless. You can make your own shims from a gallon milk jug, or an aluminum pop can but I prefer to buy mine pre-made

I understand what you mean, with respect to post placement, and sincerely apologize. Thank you for correcting me, as I didn't realize that my topic was amy worse than any others, as well as "why" I couldn't post in certain places. My main question is really about cost versus quality in terms of those materials.
I meant no disrespect to the forum and was ignorant of my carelessness--I hope this will not be held against me indefinitely. Thank you for the explanation and, truly, for "policing your own."
@Bill - Thank you, sir. I'm familiar with some certain types of containers that work well for impromptu and/or inexpensive solutions, but not the one you mentioned. Thank you for sharing.

We appreciate your understanding, FauxReal.
Unfortunately, have not tried more than one mica sheet, and don't know what brand it was. Most of the time I improvise.

I have a couple sheets of the Peterson "mica" and I find them too floppy and not rigid enough. My CVS extra care card has opened more latches than any mica sheet Ive tried.
