Automotive Key Transponder controlled relay.

Postby stratmando » 9 Feb 2019 11:27

Anyone know of an Automotive Key Transponder controlled Relay?

Besides that, would like to add and remove individual users. It is for Lodge Member with limited Mobility. Got them a Pendant Transmitter, says too big( it's about1"X1 1/4"), would like for them to walk up and release Strike.

Thanks

It depends on how much you want to spend. They sell door access control systems on Amazon for around $320 or less. It may not be the best, but it can cost a lot more for a commercial version.

Assa makes a really small remote. Are you using it with an existing system?

I put System in the Last year, I proposed a Prox System(Honeywell) every user would have been Unique, and would have been a Log, Not desired, and it would have been a bad thing. It would show who was there, when and how often. Too much Info.
Thought it was called Card Company, can't find by Googling? Noticed the card had 3 little magnets in them, can see by shining light through card, took apart to see how it worked, magnets fell out, put back in, wouldn't work, then installed 1 by one, flipping magnet over if it didn't work. Has worked flawless since

Hit submit by accident, wasn't done, and no option to edit? With correct card, it allows card to go an additional.1/8" to hit a NO micro switch.
I have 4 conductors going to each reader. Red and black is power, green when positive, releases strikes(front and back door)DC strike is silent, so added a buzzer to know it is released, white wire goes to Doorbell pushbutton. Activating buzzer at bar. Allows Bartender to know someone is at the door. Also a Linear Receiver, when triggered by 2 Transmitters(each Register). When pushed, they release strikes for 4 seconds. Very Basic, Reliable. Then one guy who did much funding of the Bar didn't want to dig out card each time. Got the mineurature pendants, still a hassle for him.

Sorry to make a short story long, Bottom line if it just worked for one person. That would be plenty. Did buy a cheap prox controlled relay and 5 fobs(~$40). Still something extra to carry. So didn't do.
Really like for him to walk up to door, automatically release strike, allowing easy access?
If anyone knows the name of this reader system, let me know, it has 6 columes. , and 6 rows, for placing magnets and correct orientation. Hope I corrected all of the wrong autocorrecting done while typing? Tanks

Another way if Transponder Relay not possible, Is a Visor transmitter, and an additional Receiver With a 20 Second timer?, Or whatever time it takes to get from Vehicle to door. Really want his key transponder to work.

Another thought, could add a delay timer on Visor transmitter, so it doesn't transmit till 20 seconds? Or whatever time needed after button is pressed.
Will do this if no other option.
Any Ideas? Thanks

Going to use a 556 Timer(Dual 555 Timer), looks like 2 resistors, 4 capacitors, and a DIP 4 pin relay.
Parts should fit Visor Transmitter.
Want to delay contact for 20?, 30? Seconds then on for more than 2 seconds as receiver needs a 2 second signal to release strike. Anyone build something like this? Really don't have extra time to Breadboard, will if all else.
Easier to buy another, than find. Thanks

Do to time available, planning on just using 2 Altronix 6062 Timers, have those now, waiting on 556's.
The 2 Timers and additional Receiver seems the easy to go. Powered by AC in building. Will set his code to additional receiver, which will allow him to press transmitter in Vehicle, walk up, at 30 seconds, and hears buzzer, he can pull to open.(Used buzzer with strike, as being DC, it is silent). Will build other circuit later, needs to draw no current on stand by. Don't want it eating batteries, needing frequent changing.
Any Input?

Umm, is the door in question kept locked at all times, or are you just trying to release the latch to let someone in while the door itself is in an unlocked state ?

If you are keeping the door locked at all times, you will need to realistically install a controlled access point. Ignore the logs if they do not want that information.

If the door is unlocked, all you really need is an ADA controlled door opener which can release and open the door when someone presses the buttons mounted inside or outside of the door. Use a fail secure strike and locate a power switch to turn the opener off when you want the door secured.

The door has a Deadbolt to secure the building when Closed, when Open, Deadbolt is unlocked, When a a card is presented, it releases Strike, Inside is a Pushbar to allow Exiting, Not Important for Strike to be Fail Safe. At the Bar there is a transmitter at each Register. Wanted a Member, and is OK'd to do. Even small fob was inconvient, Really wanted his Vehicle key to release door Automatically.
Was going to put a dual timer in a Visor Transmitter, because of time, going to use 2 Altronix 6062's with an additional Linear Receiver, It will be inside and powered by the building.
Results are the same, Press button at Vehicle, leave transmitter in vehicle, walk to door, when the 30? Seconds have passed and strike will be released for 5?
Seconds
Will see if his Built-in transmitter works with his Vehicle. Times will be adjusted. First day off in a while, should be able to dig out the 6062's.
This is solely for convenience, doesn't compromise Safety or Security.
Any Input appreciated. Thanks

Won't let me edit, should say, want to see if his Vehicles transmitter will work with this receiver. Forgot there are some receivers can not work with some Vehicles.
