Can anyone see any reasons why ANY of these home-brew bumpers aren't working...?

At first glance, they do not look to be consistent in the cuts/peaks.

Also, how much experience do you have with bumping? It is not a bypass. It is a skill (that I have not developed to any noticeable degree) that requires some learning.

You're using too wide of a wheel. Try something with a sharper tip so that the peaks are higher.

Also, it looks like you are already doing it, but make sure to cut the tip so that the first peak is the same height as all the others.

Also, avoid over polishing the key. Sharp peaks are a good thing on bump keys.

Finally, bump keys are great for attacking spools, but suck at locks with very high and very low cuts.

A better alternative to bumping when that happens is to pick the deep pins then lightly rake the rest.

You can often saved yourself a lot of time doing that.

Also, sometimes rocking swizzle picks can pop a tricky lock. Works a lot for commercial levers.

Finally, don't be afraid to bust out a card and try to slip the deadlatch in the strike. Works A LOT more often than it should.
