Council Outside toilet door lock

Hi Guys,
Great first post but Iv'e been asked to replace a external toilet block door lock, as a gentleman got locked inside and they had to call the fire brigade to rescue him and hence damaging the lock itself.

Not seen anything like this in the past so here's hoping one of you have had to deal with one in the past.

I fixed up the links to the photos...

detailed explanation for the computer boffins: the [image] command cannot display imgur.com as a whole web page which is what those links are.. the URL has to be the direct path to the .jpg or .bmp or .gif or .png file on imgur's servers like this: http://i.imgur.com/randomstuff/name.jpg

*post moved from Locks to European Locks

It looks like a CES or Adams Rite Cassette. It takes a Standard Euro lock. Possibly one like this:

(It doesnt need to be a medeco)

Also it looks like one of the doors close to me in Somerset.

Hi Rik, it's not the euro cylinder that's broken it's the lower internal bolt that lock's you inside the toilet.

just curious since we dont use this type of setup here in the states, but is the mechanism of the lower smaller lock case somehow married mechanically with the upper mechanism? is the key cylinder just there to extend the upper bolt so the toilet is locked when out of service? does turning the key the other way unlock the lower case in case someone inside the toilet is unconscious or something?

what moving part did they break exactly?

Thanks for helping me understand,

Yeah that's how it is, there is two parts to the lock attached to one faceplate, the top half consist of the latch and a deadbolt the deadbolt being used for out of hours as it's situated in a park and ride car park. The bottom part is an internal bolt that when turned inside the toilet the person can then use it as normal, that carries through to the outside where an indicator shows red or green to notify people outside that the toilet is empty or engaged.
I might have to strip it down and try and modify it somehow as not getting very much feedback from manufacturers etc.
