Cool! I love hearing stories like this.
I wonder if they fudged the dialing order on purpose to prevent teaching bad guys because of some perception that this is still hush hush only the experts can know how to dial a safe.
Is the gentleman who opened it a forum member or part of the locksport community?

Maybe a straight tail piece and no drive cam?
With these photos I have no idea what that safe is and I have found no other photos.

Dialed 20, 40, 60, AND listened for click, click, click. Interesting, Wonder if it was set to a 1 number combo? Would be nice to see what a Safe Tech found actual combo to be? 3 right, 3 left, 1 right. Odd sequence?

did you not see my reply? I think they fudged it on purpose for the newspaper as to not teach bad guys dialing order because god forbid. the click click click is such poppy _ too, I wish the public wasnt brainwashed to think that safes make such a sound when dialed..

20-40-60 was an old timey "stock" combination like 50-25-50 or 50 is used nowadays. The turns are off but that could have been a typo from a reporter.
I personally enjoy engaging the customer to assist when opening a safe like this... I ask them to write down the clicks and clacks for a bunch of numbers as I listen and dial the safe. Of course the order is always click, clack, click, clack. Then I say woooo-wooooo safes open...
Some customers get it, some dont.....
