Eurocylinder dimple lock - "WJ" ?

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Eurocylinder dimple lock - "WJ" ?

Postby pemlock » 22 Jun 2019 2:55

Does anyone know this manufacturer? The keys are marked "WJ" on both sides, no other markings anywhere.

No luck searching for it... (notoriously difficult to google), but I suspect some Chinese maker... but why "WJ" then? Some retailer brand?

I got it for a few bucks on a Swedish ebay equivalent, which is why I know nothing about it. (The seller didn't either.)

Btw, I have picked both sides, not very easy and the side with the sticker is slightly harder. (They are different, there's some master key scheme here, as can be seen on the last cut of the keys; two of them only open one side of the lock.)

When you have a chance, could you fill out your member profile and include your location/country? Thanks!

Thanks! I wonder how it made its way here... eurocylinders are rare here (with Scandinavian oval and ASSA completely dominating the market), and with two sides, even more so. I've never seen a lock like that actually installed anywhere anyway... Oh, well, I guess we'll never know. :)

Just a final update: I eventually disassembled it... Luckily, I had recently watched a youtube video by LockNoob where he insisted that you should always shim this type of locks like then when you gut them, so I did. This is what I found:

Obviously, not shimming, and/or making the slightest mistake, will jam the lock completely. :|

A pretty crappy lock overall actually. Very loose tolerances, just standard pins, and one side only had 5 pins installed (first 2 and last 3), and then this...
