What kind of lock is this? Is it warded?

Postby Azn » 20 Jul 2019 16:49

My boss has a toolbox with a few keepsakes in it and has lost the key. Asked if i could pick it because the lock is fairly old and from his grandfather. I tried and looked and played with it for a while but cant seem to get it. I have only been picking for a littlw while and have only done regular pin tumbler locks but this lock doesnt seem to have any pins. I am thinking it may be warded or some sort of rings inside but i have never seen a lock like this so i am looking for advice on how and what i need to get through this lock. It says it is a ilco 50mm lock. And apparently the key looks like a standard pin tumbler key. Only weird thing is there is a plate that freely spins 90° and so you cant really use a tension wrench either... Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

It's a warded lock. Use the 'search' on upper left corner of this page and search warded locks.
