Old Combination Dial I can't open

Postby Hyperadox » 1 Apr 2019 10:05

I have this old combination dial that I forgot the combination to. Does anyone have any tips on getting into it?

I assume that's a drainage hole in the bottom, and I'm not sure if I could get into it that way.

Any help would be appreciated :)

I realize this is an exceptionally old post.

But, in case you were wondering why you didn't get more of an answer, I have a theory.

You may not realize what you have there. That's a security device used by realtors, rental property management, and other common areas (like, to get into a kitchen pantry of a rental hall, etc.)

Telling you how to defeat that product would help other people trying to get into places they aren't supposed to be.

It's a nice addition to your collection, though, don't see very many like that any more!

And I have two of them mounted on a display stand given as a gift to my by a good friend.

Yeah, I’m talking about you, Oldfast.

And the above posts are correct that the info would be restricted here. Yes, you can get info from YouTube, but that doesn’t mean we can make it easy.

Exactly. I've gotten a LOT of what would be considered broadly 'close hold' material right off the ol' interneto. Difference is, in the wild, maybe it's correct, maybe it's someone that intentionally wants you to destroy a lock (DROPTABLE, anyone lol). Here though, are self-monitored experts - I don't think you could give out a great deal of rubbish without being called on it, so there's one reason. The other is that this place doesn't need to be printed out and held aloft in a capital crimes trial, with an attorney saying, MAH CLIENT WOULD NEVER EVER EVER HAVE DONE THIS HAD THE INFORMATIONS NOT BEEN SO DANGED EASY AND GROUPED TOGETHER.

I respect both sides of the argument; I both actively seek out forbidden knowledge, because it's addicting, not necessarily useful, but I also ain''t gonna be the guy that teaches how to make a time bomb from household chemicals and equipment, either!

Really late reply, sorry bout that. Thanks for the input, I hadn't even thought about it being a realtors lock, and there being a respect towards that. I gave it a whirl a few months ago, and didn't end up cracking it, but I'll probably give it another shot here soon. Thanks for the feedback!
