Please help identify this type of lock

Postby neonchrome » 28 Aug 2019 13:01

Hi all!
I am new here but am looking to have this kind of lock identified. I've never seen this kind before and wondering if I hired a locksmith would they be able to open it? Are all locks pickable? Is this one?

It's a disc detainer "plug lock" from Lock America Inc. (LAI). They market it as a high security lock. I've never handled one myself so I'll leave it to someone else to answer how easy/hard they are to pick...

As a locksmith myself I would most likely destroy this lock & replace it with something else

Hello and welcome to the forum.
As a hobbyist, I wouldn't touch a lock in use, that is on a vending machine or on a laundry money box. Just saying...

Thanks

Sorry, but we don't discuss high security vending or laundry locks with new members who post a close up photo of such a lock. Call a locksmith please and ask them to come drill out an LAI / Abloy Profile cam lock.

Locking this thread.
