Infiniti i35 anti theft system

Postby Vegasbtjas » 27 Sep 2019 2:37

I recently bought an Infiniti i35 2004. It ran good for a day and then I guess I did something to trip the anti theft security system and after tons of research, ended up with a zed bull mini, a odb2 to USB cord and tons of useless software. I refuse to spend the money a dealer wants so I ended up calling a locksmith to handle this, which was a huge pain trying to find a locksmith that would do it. The locksmith came over did his quick thing and boom, car started. He had me start it and drive around. I started and stopped it another 5 or 6 times and went into my house came back out about 2 hours later and simply used my remote to unlock the door and tried starting it and the anti theft is back on. Can someone please please please help me on this. I put my key in the zed bull to identify the key and it says locked. Is there any way that I can unlock this myself. I'm not trying to use this knowledge to steal cars or anything dumb like that, so any insider info will never go into bad play, I just honestly can't afford another $200 to have the locksmith come out again

Hi,
I own a Jeep and whenever something goes wrong the cherokee forum people always have the answer.

Have you found an Infiniti owners forum to see if anyone else had this exact issue and what the fix was? I find there is also a youtube video for pretty much every problem, but it sounds like you did a bunch of research already.

Are the remotes factory or an aftermarket system? Is there a remote starter or other goodies that were added on? Maybe there's a bad shock sensor or something. I had to disable/bypass one of my shock sensors because on really cold winter nights the metal and plastic in the sensor shrunk and expanded enough to trip it. I didn't ejoy the first time it happened and running outside in my underwear at 3am on a snowy night to see nobody was actually breaking into the Jeep.

Just a thought,

I was a loyal Maxima/Infiniti owner, until they gave up the manual transmission.

I agree w Squelch, the owner's forums are valuable. A G-d send.

I appreciate it guys. I've read that last thread squelch was talking about, I have read everything possible over the last month and I just can't get down to the root of it. I even called the Infiniti dealer today just to find out if the hood sensor could be the problem, the reply.... "Might be". Theses are the guys that supposedly know everything about your car, hell, they charge that way and I get, might be.

Interestingly enough these guys can't make even a dime from your phone call, so they aren't likely to dispense much of value over the phone
