This lock is just stuck on the wall, went to go take a look at it and I have no idea what this is, it looks like an antique lock.  
The concept of right or wrong should not be automatically associated to be what is deemed "lawful". Act within your own morals, even if it makes you an enemy to those who turn a blind eye.

Ha! Only on a good day though. I had 2 or 3 of these when I was a kid and quickly figured out how to make a skeleton key. This was before I could (legally) drive...
