Just out of curiosity... Do any other locksmiths here use these carbide burrs?

I do use 1/4" shafted carbide burrs but I prefer the 100% carbide with a one piece shaft
I recently bought these on E-bay & they are the shiznet https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Ea-SL-1-14-D ... 2749.l2649
They do have a smaller cutting area but Grobet makes the good good & you'll never beat $5 each

I use them, too. My set is by Mountain Tool.

Where do you buy the mountain tool ones from? I couldn’t find them.

Being a professional mechanic, I bought them from one of the tool trucks.

Here is one site that has them, but out of stock. But if you look for the part number, am sure you can find them. I have had my set for 8-10 years.

Those look expensive, why not save money and buy from a machinist supply company?

I carry that exact same shape bur in my go bag at work. Got a set five years ago (not sure of the brand or cost) but that shape is the most versatile for me.

It amazes me how much abuse it takes and still cuts well. Most commercial strikes are stainless now but it still cuts them quick when needed.

Think the kit was around $65-75 USD. For eight burs, not too expensive

Can't touch $5.25 each and they're steel shafts with carbide cutters brazed on
