Mystery Dial

Can anyone identify the maker (Mosler?) of the dial pictured? I’m not sure it’s paired with the correct dial ring.

I will look around for you.. that knurled knob screams home made.. is that a split washer under that screw? Some sort of spare parts express or custom job?

Interesting mystery!

Never seen anything similar. Where does it come from?

Not sure - came in a parts lot.

I’ll probably list it on eBay. Except for the curiosity it’s not something I want to keep.

If you want to part from lock and dial I would be interested. And I will ask my safe professional if he knows that lock.

Btw. I can imagine, that the dial is from a country with its own low end lock production, e.g. Middle or South America.

The wheels in the lock look just like the Mosler B103 with the tab change and numbered outer ring. Note that you cant set the wheel on every number due to the tab. The lock body is more modern dimension than the B103 and would match more with todays foot print.

The dial would have had a screw on cookie with the name plate on it.

I would have thought a name plate would screw in but there are no threads to screw into.

The threaded cookie with the name plate on it would pass thru the dial and thread into the arbor just like your screw in the pic.

I do have this strange lock now. I wonder if the wheels are the original wheels. Because of the size of the drive cam, the original wheels must have been hand change some how. (No space for a change key to reach the wheels and also no hole for the change key tip in the case.) Because the cam is at the cover side it really makes sense to have numbers on the wheels as it is very difficult to see if the gates are positioned correctly. But the numbers stamped on the wheels have nothing to do with the actual combination.
