Recommended Code Software

Postby GWiens2001 » 24 Nov 2019 18:51

Am looking to update or change the code software. Am using the CodeSource software (full version) that came with my Blitz a few years ago. Have only really used this software, but want the input from those who use the same or different software before deciding whether to spend money on an update or buy new software.

I don't do much if any automotive work (aside from my normal job). What are the pros and cons of the software you use? Is there a decent iPhone based either app or online access?

Thank you,

Gordon

I have used lockcodes.com for years.

Works pretty well and its web based so its available anywhere you can connect and is updated all of the time. Has codes for most of the stuff we do with cabinets and files. We dont do auto but its there.

I dont pay for it but i think its only 60 bucks a year or so for the code portion.

I have used Blackhawk, also $60 a year. I have been very pleased with it. When I decided to switch and "rent" instead of own, I figured out the cost. Buying a program for $600ish with updates every few years or leasing the program. It would take about 15 years or so to break even by buying. And then it may not be current! And if you slow down and let it lapse, just come back the next time you need it and pay for another year. No penalty for missing, no contract.

I have used lockcodes.com since they began. Best bang for the buck IMO.
