How do I pick this lock?

Postby cool98555 » 27 Nov 2019 13:17

I am currently in MN but left my only key for my accordion case in TX. I really want to play but I can't figure out how to pick this lock. It seems simple, and after close inspection inside of the lock, it seems to me as if it is a wafer lock of some kind, but i'm not sure. I am a complete beginner to lockpicking. I have tried making picks out of paperclips but I haven't had any luck with this. Can any of you help with this type of lock? I'd really like to get it open now. Thank you!

Most of the music case locks I have seen can be opened with a stiff wire bent into an L shape, with another bend to use as a handle. More of a Z shape. Make the L the length of the height of the keyway. Then turn it like a normal key.

If this is a lever lock, you will need a locksmith.
