I actually like the HPC 9120 & 9160 Speedex machines but not the one pictured as it'a a first gen modeland only has two-way vises--the newer model has 4 way key vises. I actually retrofit my 1st gen 9120 speedex with hpc's help 25 years ago & I've rebuilt that machine many times as I still use it today

There are far more than you suspect. I have about 10 key machines, and I'm just a hobbyist, too.

Demux hit the nail on the head. Though I do have a couple extras. One is promised to someone else whom I need to contact again. Been really busy. (Sorry AverageJoe). And the other one needs a motor.

I am also considering my Best punch as a machine since it cuts keys. Also, have a Herty Gerty that I am counting since I use it for all my code cutting of tubular keys, though I have an Ilco tubular machine that I use to duplicate tubular keys. I have two sidewinder/dimple/laser key machines, but one I have set up to duplicate and cut Mul-T-Lock. A Speedex duplicator, a HPC Blitz code cutter, and an Abloy Disclock/Disclock Pro cutter. Have bought and sold a few others over time. Have a few more that I am looking to acquire if I can find/afford them. Abloy Classic being at the top of that list.

So I guess you'd say I'm a kinda serious hobbyist.

Gordon, interesting that you have a Disklock machine. Are you able to reliably find parts (locks, discs, key blanks, etc) for that system and if so where? I've always been under the impression that basically everything Abloy did in their disc detainer series was all super restricted. That's one area I've always had an interest in getting in to if I could find parts/machines reliably and for a decent price (read: not having to sign a contract with Assa Abloy).

BTW, my latest machine is one of the various Chinese knockoffs of the HPC tubular code machine. Just came in the mail a couple weeks ago, along with some other goodies (which reminds me I really should snap a few pics and update the big "Look what I got in the mail" thread). I was looking for a Herty Gerty for a while but the market on those is getting pretty scarce these days...

There is a supplier on eBay that can supply all kinds of restricted key blanks. I get the generic Abloy Disclock Pro blanks. They can be used for both Disclock and Disclock pro. Just have to use a file to make it fit the specific keyway after cutting it.

As for parts and locks, they are harder to get. I can get them, but it can take a while.

Is this a generalized "Life finds a way" kind of statement or is there a specific supplier you have in mind that can often supply these parts? If the latter, mind sharing a link? I understand if you don't want to post it in the open forums here, but a PM or a thread in the advanced forums would be wonderful. Thanks.
