How can I pass the locksmith exam?

Postby seanauto » 2 Apr 2020 14:35

Hi everyone

I am a locksmith in Saskatoon,Canada. MY main job is making car keys ,and also, I cut residiential keys, open doors and install locks for my customers.

A few months ago, my family moved to BC cause my life like the weather there, it is worm and the grass land is always green even in winter, I like here immediatelly .

But there is a problem for me: BC has different policy about locksmith, espically for a new comer like me. I cannot transport my license from SK but have to pass a locksmith exam before I can say I am a legal locksmith. I think it is easy so I studyed several books like Philips and challenged twice, but I failed,63% both!

I founded that the scope of the exam questions is very wide, include almost every part of a losksmith's work, some parts I never meet in my daily work, like life codes, fire codes, commercial building hardware, safes, master keys etc.

So I am looking for study materials, like exam banks, NFPA 80/101, and all kinds of test. If anyone has some recommended readings, please let me know. Really appreciate!

You posted the same question about Corbin pins 2 times, so one of the posts was deleted to keep the forum clutter free.

Here are all of your posts and replies:
