AGA Lock

Postby Crocus » 20 Apr 2020 11:32

Hi! I just started out and am waiting for my lock pick set (KLOM via AliExpress) to arrive.
I am stuck in a company flat in Spain and the door to a mini-balcony, where the aircon is
is locked with this AGA lock (no key!) - what type of lock is it and how would you approach
opening it. I want to prepare so that I am ready when the picks arrive :) .
Does not look that difficult but then again, I am a complete noob.

Not a good idea to pick locks that are both in use and not your personal property.

We do not teach lock picking so that people can do unethical things with that knowledge.

Please ask the building manager or maintenance person to open the balcony so you can get fresh air, or ask them to fix or turn on the air conditioning system.

Picking the lock to get out to the balcony is a sneaky and unethical thing to do.

We pick locks because they are fun puzzles, not to break into places.

I wanted to keep the post short and to the point, was not expecting those accusations.
Of course I have the approval of the administration to open the lock, they apologized
not providing the key as they should have per the rental agreement and even said that
I should break the door open with force as they are not able to get the key replaced in
due course due to the lockdown in Spain.

you are telling me they do not have a maintenance man or cannot call a locksmith and expect you, a visitor, to pick the lock?

and there were no accusations, so please do not get offended. We get a lot of new members with 1 post who show a close up photo of a lock that is clearly on a door or vending machine and ask us how to pick it because they need to get in to solve some problem they are having. We cannot possibly know if they are telling the truth or what the real story is.

you can learn a lot on youtube by searching for videos with titles such as "how to rake a lock" I think you will find this helpful, in the mean time, can you open a window to get some fresh air?

good luck, and be safe
