New wave profiles

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Christina Palmer Wave Rakes
A new model of computer generated wave rakes that works much better. These are true computer generated profiles optimized by Christina and Phds using powerful software.

4 tools are available Cycloid 4 and 5 peak and Sinusoidal 4 and 5 peak.

Wicked Waves

Our brand new pair of rakes have been making waves on social media ever since I posted an image of the first pair. These profiles are based on Christina Palmer's original Quint Cycloid and Quint Sinusoidal waves modeled by Christina and a group of PHDs using advanced Mathmatica software to create an awesome tapered wave effect. Christina is an amazing individual with a real passion for locksport and the advanced physics that went into designing these two incredible profiles. For those interested, the profiles generated are available for download. You will need Mathematica and Autodesk Inventor to view the all the related content. There are trial versions of both programs.

FYI Quad means 4 peaks and Quint means 5 peaks.
The links for the Cad and Wave files are under the section Lockpick Design at https://elvencraft.com/lpd/Lock%20Pick% ... tions.html

You can get more of an explanation at Toool l in their description under Wicked Waves.

Both Toool and Lawlocktools and Peterson sell these picksets.

Is there a vendor selling in the US with the handles shown by the UK vendor?
It's a good day when I learn something new.

I find it fascinating, and I'm impressed that a group would use mathematical models and an analytic process to try and improve lock picks.
However, I am curious as to their practical nature, and in part question what factors they considered to improve the liklihood of recreating the bitting that would open a lock.
What spacing between the peaks did the group decide on? Is it related to pin spacing in a 1:1 distance ratio or something different?
Did they consider the average MACS when they input the peak-to-trough values?
While there may have been computer modeling, many limiting factors must have been determined empirically... such as total height of the pick given that it must enter some "standard" warding patterns (Y1 perhaps?).
In the end, I find myself skeptical that these picks increase the probability of moving pins to the sheer line, other than they have 5 peaks to move 5 pins.
Thoughts?

These lockpicks work reasonably well on cheap locks.
I'm noticing more and more that some brands works better with a wave rake, others better with a snake rake.
I have not found the reason why.

The best part of the designs are the rounded corners and the way stress is relieved.
I think many rakes can be improved with the corners are rounded over. I'm thinking about the prince/princess/king/queen but also the Sparrows chess set.

I'd wish lasercutting metal was cheaper. I would gladly spend a few weeks iterating lockpick designs.

I've not seen a Law Lock Toools reseller yet. It's a small side business and don't know the volume he moves at this moment.
