Are these 'Rap Keys' ?

European hardware -lever locks, profile cylinders specific for European locks. European lock picks and European locks.

Are these 'Rap Keys' ?

Postby Sam66 » 3 Dec 2004 6:23

Hi, I'm new to all this and saw this item on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW

In case the link doesn't work it's item no. 3853500522. In one of his other auctions he says they are 'Masterkeys'. Can someone tell me what they really are, and if the price is reasonable.

Thanks!

Yes, they are rap/special/999/bump/magic/power keys or whatever other names you have for them.

They seem a little expensive to me. Souber's are £12+VAT but even this is ridiculously expensive whe you consider what they are - Two Minutes work with a few pence of key blanks.

On a personal note, I've never had much success at all with these. Maybe its that my technique sucks but I seem to have tried everything

I don't know why I wasted all those thousands of pounds on training, a van, locks, tools, advertising, etc... If only I'd seen this first. With 4 sets of rap keys, a 5 piece pick set and a car I could be making £60+ per call out and be able to open all the locks in my home in no time. Just how do you open a mortice lock with those picks? Maybe their 'master keys' can do it...

You'll be picking every lock in your home in no time.

:D Really. So that'll include Medeco/Chubb Biaxial, mul-t-lock, 10 lever ingersoll, kaba gemini, chubb battleship, cruiser and a range of chubb, era, yale, union, legge mortice locks etc..... Not to mention those nastly pin tumblers of Chubb, GeGe, Assa, Evva and high security birds.

I must just be slow then. Unless "no time" means several years.

Maybe they just use a thumb to open mortice locks?

mul-t-lock yes, GeGe yes, Assa yes, Evva yes, Kaba maybe but I think the Birds can only be opened with vodka
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.
