My son has lost his roof rack key. I was able to pick and unlock all four but ones to remove the cores (cylinder) so I can get the code and order the key or replace cores and key. Does anyone know how these come out please. https://imgur.com/a/CMUpGup
so you typically use a blank Thule key (the blue control / change key) to get the cores out, the blank pulls in the deepest wafer that retains the core inside the housing
in this pic that silver thing sticking out of the plug at the top, you need to put something deep into the lock and pull down to make that silver thing be flush with the grey lock core, then it can slide out of the lock housing:
take a look at this video:
if you have already picked them, you could probably insert something flat like a pocket knife blade in order to move the deepest wafer, and then pull the core out towards you.
Ok thanks I should have posted that this is not a Thule or a Yakima. I believe it is a Ecorack. I’ve found procedures on the other 2 but nut for this type. I believe this one would have a one sided key. When I picked it I only had to work one side. I did try the procedure you mentioned shown in the videos but no luck. Would I manipulate this last tumbler in the same direction as the others or would I need to move it the other way? Also there’s a small pin hole around the left side of the circumference of the cylinder. I wasn’t sure if that my have something to do with it?

You turn the core halfway, then stick a paperclip into the small hole on the side--I usually file or grind an angle on the tip of the paper clip, that makes it easier to depress the retainer as it goes into that small hole. Once the retainer has been depressed you often hafta pry the core out. If you are careful you can use a razor blade, it's much easier when you have the key
Thanks for all the help. I tried booth suggestions unsuccessfully. Being that I was able to pick these locks I was able to remove one of the latch assemblies for his truck. Then I was able to sneak a pick in from behind and release the retaining tumbler. After it was removed I took a look at the housing and the cylinder to see what I was doing wrong and I don’t believe this cylinder was made to be removed. The pin hole was no where near the retainer and the tumbler is u-shaper not o-shaped so a it wouldn’t be disengaged with a control key or picking. After all of that it ends up that there aren’t any numbers on the cylinder so I’ll have to drop off the cylinder to have a key cut
