I saw that HPC had a simple backset gauge, and since I wanted to install some deadbolts and entry knob locks on practice boards, I thought I'd make one.
1" strip of galvanized sheet metal from the garage. Bent into a right angle. Then marked for 2-3/8 and 2-3/4 backsets with a notch cutter. Same with the 7/8" notches to mark the latch hole. Easy peasy. Pete
