I was 1 of them, after watching it, I mentioned would be interesting to take 2 Keys and remove opposite halves,
To open you would need both halves, The whole key could be a Master Key.
One bad thing is either could use theirs as a tension tool, and only have to pick a 5 pin.

Interesting thought. I don't know a lot about Bilock, but I wonder if you could also go the other way with this. For locks on common/less-secure areas, remove one sidebar and half the pins, then give users of those locks a key with that half cut to the lowest depth at every position. The master key would still work in those locks, but the change keys to them would not leak any info (even parity) about higher level keys, but should still have enough changes to remain reasonably secure...

Have used folded over or cut credit cards/hotel room card keys in the past to make temporary keys for BiLock.

One problem with cutting the key in half to make the lock dual custody (like the DOM iX split key locks) is that the metal part of the key does not reach all that far into the key bow. So turning the key would be difficult.

Six pins per side.

How about instead of Straight cuts joing them, you have a Zig Zag cut where they meet, to keep inline, and give strength?

Not a bad idea, but there is not much space for a Z or W cut like you are speaking about.

Best thing you can do is... try it out! :D

No, saw teeth, at the bottom of the "U", where the 2 halves meet, I can picture it, don't have the tools to do it. Don't think it really needs it, could just be flat surfaced where they meet

I was thinking the same thing, stratmando. Saw where the two halves meet.

By the way, thank you all for inspiring me...

Good work, looks like you fixed the pick with the steep ramp, took a little of the height away?

Thank you! No, that pick is not in the picture. It's still too pointy for my taste, in fact I rarely use it. I'll see what to do with it.

Cheers :)
