Found an interesting lock...anyone ever looked in to picking it.. if not does anyone know of any tools and methods

Falle makes a decoder (restricted - goverment only tool) - but apart from that no other way I know of !

oh well i will buy one and make a decoder

It's not available in Oz, They are made in Austria. A 201 type cylinder will set you back over $120 ...

Snap Oldlock! I'm tempted to disassemble it but, retailing at around £70, I haven't yet taken the plunge...!

It's odd to take apart, you don't do it with the key in the plug if that makes sense, you have to remove the clips and move all the 'pins' so that they will clear the groves in the shell - have a go and you will see what I mean - they really are'nt as bad as you would think mechanically.

I use those locks in a MK system at home, door, cellar, bycicles; it is quite easy to take them apart and study them, and it is an interesting idea to make a lock! By the way, just remember where the parts belong and do not let them fall out of the core, then it is even easier to put it together again.

One thing, the sidebar is almost useless from security view, if you just grind down the sides of the key it operates regardless from the sidebar code of the lock. Just seems to be for the good look :-) And for getting more differs in large systems...
