S&G 8088 Combination Padlock

It all started with Yale Linus Jr and patent US18169A in 1857. Look how far we've come. Post your patents here, discuss prior art, new designs, and various mechanisms important to the lock and lock picking world.

Designed by Harry C Miller, the internals of this lock are simply amazing.

That is the patent for how they block the change key hole. That is for the S&G 1951, with the flat top. 8088 has the stepped top.

I've always loved patents. When I was young I wanted to become a Designer!

Seeing these patents made me want to display some of my padlocks properly. At first I thought to print out the patent pictures and frame them, with a hook to attach the padlock they refer to.
Then I've just had another more compact idea: hang the padlock to the wall and attach a qr code to its side, like they do in museums, that points to the patent itself.

To easily do it, but also to spoon feed all the other visitors, I need you to add a link to the patent itself in your threads... then I can convert the link to a qr code with my phone, without the need to look for the patent number. I'm lazy, I know it

Thank you :)

Will try to do that, Femurat. I just happen to have looked up a lot of patents over the years, and have many printed out and in my lock info files.
