Hi!
Im from Slovenia, the home of Titan locks.
So here is a photo my disassembled Titan K padlock.
Very simple desing, yet unshimable. Its got two spools 2,4 just like
his eurocylinder brother.

Hello, Dihur! Did not know that Titan came from Slovenia.

Interesting design on that padlock. Three questions on the padlock.

First, the tailpiece on the plug (the black piece above the part the key fits into in your picture) - does it have an overhang that locks the shackle in place?

Second - the spring and pins that you show above the padlock body and below the shackle - are they for retaining the plug in the lock on one side and the heel (longer end) of the shackle? Am asking because I see six holes drilled, but only five sets of key pins/driver pins/driver springs.

Third, is the padlock designed to be disassembled, or did you have to drill a pin to take it apart?

Thank you for the pics and hopefully answering my questions!

Gordon

Hi Gordon,

Titan is Slovenian but now bought by DOM so Titan-DOM solutions.

1. Okay so yes the tailpiece is the locking mechanism, the picture below shows that.

2. Those 2 pins above hold the plug and the shackle in place.

3 I disassembled it by inserting a small piece of wiper insert down by the shackle (when unlocked) to push the pin in so it releases the shackle. There's a picture below.

I didn't know I could disassemble my Titan padlocks. Thanks for the info and pictures, dihur. And, by the way, welcome to the forum!

Cheers :)

And I finally manage to add the pictures of the spring, lock, and the door where the lock was.

That's interesting. I've never seen anything like that before.
That could prevent comb pick attacks for sure. Dunno if it's effective against bumping too.

Maybe someone who knows more about those ball bearings will chime in and reveal their purpose.

Cheers :)
