Bill, shouldn't the lock be OK so long as he doesn't remove key in a bad position. Not his modified key.

Earlier, I was saying just use correct key, Don't pick this Lock anymore. Should work OK as a working lock, just not a Practice Lock.

If he can get the springs behind the driver pins out & if he wants half a lock protecting whatever it's installed on

I thought 1 pin was out
And no spring(s) were out.
If a Business Locksmith, I would say "throw it out", not really, I Keep everything.
But if figuring and Practicing locks and have the time, I would try to get all back as it was, may not be easy. He will learn something. I wish I had that lock here. I've wasted more time on worse.
