Sanp gun doesn't "snap"

Hellow, I'm a real Lock noob and I just got a snap Gun and i installed the needle like the instructions said but there is a problem....

The gun doesn't "snap", I mean when i pull the handle i hear a click but nothing moves....

Some help plz

So if its broken, just return it.. Or u could open it and see whats wrong.. I can't imagine that the mechanism would be too complicated..

I agree it is probably broken. With my Brockhage, as you pull the trigger slowly, the needle holder visibly moves down until the trigger reaches a certain point then the needle holder snaps back up. The wheel on the back adjust the amount of upwards force in the snap.

I wouldn't recommend trying to fix it yourself since it does have a lifetime warranty (opening it would probably void that).

Sounds broken to me. I'd return it, but make sure that you've got manual picks too - those more than any other thing will help enhance your knowledge of how a lock works.

Well the problem is, it's a sanp gun, it goes sanp. Common mistake, happens to all of us =) , The sanp gun makes a nifty paperweight!

Before you return it, pull the "trigger" and keep it in. Move the needle around, see if it moves up and down. If so, push it down and slowly release the trigger, should snap back up. Also test the tension adjustment, and try it. You can grasp the needle and work the trigger, you should feel a slight stinging type of slap against your finger.
If all else fails, return it.

man snap guns are gay, personally i think they are a waste of time, damage pins and springs and will ultimately ruin you lock, but a sanp gun..lol

Skold snap guns are not gay. There are a usefull tool mate! I even have a Majestic Lock aid gun. I love to hand pick, but somtimes there is just those situations you have to ready for. Like i can remember a quote from romstar "People who wanted in 20 mins ago" well if you have a quick feel in that lock and you know that it is gonna take you a good five - ten mins and the man is iratable well take out that snap gun son! Also i can remember i posted this a while ago... Snap guns can help to losen up stuck up locks. Skold just remember if you think they are gay then maybe you and them might just get along :lol:

Just kidding. Just before i finnish. Even the best lockpicker i know, a locksmith who solely uses hand tool and is bloody good! He carries a pick gun in his tool kit for those days when you cant pick well. Or when the customer is getting angry after a few minutes! Another tip for those with snap guns. If you are pretty sure you got 4 pins and there is just one little bugger that just won't pick and you are on a job and the customer is getting angry. Quickly give that lock a couple of snaps and generally it should open!
Also snap guns only ultimately damage the lock if they are been miss-used. I know a locksmith who totally destroys locks with a pick gun. He has a stupid cheapo import and has it turned up pretty high. The trick is Light tension in conjuncton with the wheel on the gun down very low!
Im sorry about this little rant. But im just plain bored, my day is going VER VERY VERY slowly as im getting a laptop tommorow hahaha.

sorry to hear about the slow day luke, i'm having one too, and tomorow too, my package form foley-belsaw is here, and the post office closed before we got the notice today, and they are closed on sundays, i thought about picking the lock, but i don't want to get arrested
