I have a couple LOTO locks that I was able to pick about 15 times each. But lately, I cant seem to get them open anymore. The key still works and functions smoothly/correctly. Do some locks change in difficulty after some use? It is frustrating to be able to open them weeks ago and then cant seem to get the pins to set anymore. I practice picking almost everyday so it is not like that should be a problem.
Any thoughts?

Some call it cheating, does looking at the Key Help? If not, may be Binding Order.

Wear on the pins and pin channels will cause some things to change, as can dirt or lube. Fine shavings from pin and pin channel wear can also build up over time.
Also, some times you will pick better, and some times you will pick not so well.

Thanks. Looked at the key and opened it 4 more times. Shallow 2 and 5 pins. 2 was the false set and 3 was the spool. Just needed to study it in detail and map out the sequence.
I will work on the other LOTO tomorrow.

I have a couple Master LOTO locks that have a mind of their own.
One day I can pick it over and over, next day I can’t get it open for the life of me.
I think the problem for me when that happens is tension, not picking.
A nice scotch seems to get things back on track!!!

Tension is the most important part of picking a lock, IMHO. I have more tension/turning tools in my kit than picks.
