Help identify round dimple key

Postby brea32 » 29 Sep 2017 22:46

My grandfather recently passed away and had this key on his key ring. I've never seen one like it and have no idea what it would go to. Perhaps a mail box or a safe deposit box? Any help would be appreciated!

Winner International. It is for a steering wheel lock - one of the types of locks used on The Club. You can see another key with a different type of key (dual sided wafer lock) that has the same logo on the key chain. That is also for a Club steering wheel lock.

I realize this is a really old thread I'm replying to but the key pictured in the thread is the closest I can find to the keys I have no idea what they're for...

Here is a pic...

Image

Do you have any idea what this type of key is and what it would be used for?
I've searched the term dimple key and notched key with grooves (it has a notch at the tip), 3 dimples on one side and 2 on the other... I can't find anything with those terms but this thread popped up so I thought I'd follow up...
Originally I thought it was for luggage but it doesn't look like any luggage locks I can find.

That is the same type of key as the Winner International steering wheel lock above, but the logo is unfamiliar. It may be for a padlock. Have a padlock with the same style of key in my collection.

The keyway will either be a circle or a circle with a post in the middle.

This is, perhaps, a modern Far East / China padlock, or possibly a door cylinder, key.
