Crazy "false set" on 3-pin practice lock

Postby Peter Martin » 23 Jan 2021 19:55

The front pin has a regular driver, pin 2 and 3 have .200 long spool drivers. This false set is a mite odd. Never had a lock turn this far.
Not sure what to do at this point. Not much "counter rotation" can be felt if I force the pins upward.

I now think maybe I pinched a spring. Possible?

+1

You need to be sure the key pin + driver pin = at least the length needed to block the shear line.

Can you move the core or is it locked up? If it is locked up with that degree of false set it looks like a driver pin stuck in a construction hole.

Really hard to turn but moveable? Could be spring

Do you have to remove core to check or change pins, or can you remove out the back of the Bible?
