Hi,
I am wondering if there is a website that will tell you if lockpicking is legal in your country. I am from Slovenia which is in EU, and I couldn't find anything if lockpicking is legal or not. Can you help me please.
Thanks, Jaka

Knowing by country is often not enough.
Laws may also vary between states or provinces as well as local bylaws.
I would not rely on website posted information but get the information directly from the jurisdiction that you are in. It is YOUR arse that YOU need to protect!!

In Alaska, or Colorado you will be charged with burglery tools. I have had my lockpicks taken from me 4 times. one time, once I was released from jail I was able to make an appointment with evidence and get them back. most the time if the cops catch you opening anything without a license, you're booked, or getting an ass kicking. It's perfectly legal to posses them, but it's really up to the cop if he wants you to catch up on sleep or not. BTW, I don't condone anything illegal, I just don't have a license.
What's Up? I'm the locksmith...! Will not get you out of trouble if you get called in Breaking into your own apartment.

Am 64 now, when in my teens, Opened a Car at a 7 11, for someone who locked their keys in the car, hit an unlock button with a coat hanger, gave me $100, think I would have done it for free? Was not Liscensed, help him, helped Me. Thought, handy as a side thing. Am Liscensed now, but helped many people prior. Prior to getting Electrical Contractor License, wired several.Houses, Owner Builder, Passed no problem. If not Licensed, you can't charge. Having a License doesn't mean you are Good or Qualified. I see People in Trades, Not Liscensed, but Kick Ass over someone who has a Paper. But if you get Liscensed, means you are a little serious about it. See what it takes, you can Print Cards? Looked at Slovenia Law when you first posted, was Lengthy, as this post, but seemed? To say, as long as you are not Up to Something, you're OK Depending where you live, in the US, you could get an Officer, who realizes you are Locksmith, Some let their Imagination Run Wild. Good Luck.
