still picking at the combo, this gary safe was from a high school, since i can hear the first wheel fly hit loud and clear every time would it be off the wall that two of the discs could be tied together so it was a 2 disc combo instead of a 3 disc combo? I can not hear a second or third tick of picking up the other 2 discs in attempting to confirm multiple discs. after 5x ccw then stopping anywhere, then turning cw 34 digits i hear a bright metallic tick and it ticks everytime at that point if I rock the dial back and forth several digits against that point on the dial or do the discs get stuck together from old age? I am now a master of the cary C5 lock system!! after 4.5 months I cracked this sucker... inside was an old ford trunk key, a paper clip and one penny! But I cracked it. it was a real learning experience. the safes wheel pack was tied so the wheels turned as one wheel-- the reason I couldnt hear the 3 fly "ticks". the precision of the wheel pack was amazing even ground inlay designs. thank you for your help... radioray ps I weighed the door, 250 pounds ! hi hi so the safe must weigh 1200 to 1500 pounds

Congratulations radioray134! Job well done!

So was the number to the combination just 1 number somewhere along the dial?

We would love some recent color photos of the lock mechanism and bolt work so we can update our files, if you could snap a pic and share that would be great.

Thanks for stopping by to provide an update,

reflections after opening.... the wheel pacs were tied by a screw thru all 3 wheels. it was a one # combo. removing the screw requires 3 digits to open the lock. as the wheel pac is loose on its shaft. any vibration even just closing the door throws the wheel pack off so day locking is not possible. safe lock designers are pretty smart guys! radioray 73s
