Which Car Key Programmer should I get?

Postby aionslockco » 12 Jul 2020 21:15

I currently have the x100 Pad2. The problem is local locksmiths tell me that the x100 pad2 is not a great programmer despite the price. I have had issues connecting to some Honda vehicles as well. This may be an issue with vehicle rather than the programmer since Honda's are supposed to be easier. I also have had issues programming some Nissan Vehicles. Like altima's in the 2008 - 2009 years. So I am debating which programmer to get next to give me better results.

Here are the ones I am interested in:
Autek ikey820
Autel MaximIM608
Autel Maxim ELITE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL

If any one has any experience please let me know. The main things I am interested in is:
Is each programmer used for a specific purpose?
Should I use more than one programmer?
Why one programmer over another?

The shop I work at has an Autek programmer that gets used if somebody else is using the auto pro pad. The two are pretty similar...I’ve got more time on the auto pro pad. Ive been in the business for 6 months only and they are both pretty user friendly.

Thanks for the feedback. Have you had any issues programming or communicating with the immobiliser with the auto pro pad or the autek?

The autek is inferior to the propad. Propad has diagnostics also. Autek also can't precode.
