That's a pretty common keyway here in the US

I'm sure your locksmith can order a fitting key (Art. 1804) or a replacement lock directly from Meroni serrature or one of it's distributors.

I'll pass this information onto my locksmith. Not sure if he'll have access to that particular #1804 blank, but at least we know now where to source a replacement lock if needs be.

I'm not sure about the replacement key on that UK based website, I'm not trained to recognize key blanks.

I think your local locksmith can source the keys from his usual distributors. Otherwise you can always write to export@serme.it and ask if they have a distributor in Australia or if they can send the keys to you or your local locksmith. It seems there's 464 impressed on the lock face. This should tell the company what bittings the lock has, if it's original and has never been rekeyed, they should be able to send you the working keys.

No matter since my locksmith managed to obtain a suitable Silca blank and has cut me two keys, so mission accomplished.

Thank you again for your help. Much appreciated.

And to double validate your identification of that lock, today I was up close to another Ahlborn-Galanti organ (a much larger model) whose original key was in the lock. The key had the unmistakable elephant-shaped M of the Meroni brand on one side and the other side was stamped 464, which is the same number on my lock, so it seems that there was probably just the one key for all of their organs with an A-G catalog part number.

Although it's now academic, it will be interesting to see if Meroni ever replies to my email.

Why would they care, if they did help you would they have made $20?

I'm a locksmith & they wouldn't pay me any mind either,

if I wanted something from Meroni I would contact one of their distributors or better yet--a Meroni retailer
