help locating blanks or manufacturer name

I have 20 lateral file cabinets to make either duplicate keys and/or originate keys to. 3 other locksmiths have failed, I don't want to be the 4th!

Codes are KN28, KN41, KN48 etc... Original keys have a distinctive logo that I cannot determine the manufacturer from, but perhaps someone recognizes it. Cabinets, and locks have no manufacturer, but appear to be really high quality.

Let me know if any of this looks familiar.

Open the drawers and see if there is a mfg name etc. on the outside of the drawer sides.

Yes. Actually I can make keys by pulling the core and using a slightly modified IN8 blank, but because the bottom of the IN8 is modified I cannot simply make duplicates of the customer's existing keys.

I sent an image to Easykeys, they are baffled. Same with Blue Dog, but with Liam no longer running it, they aren't as good at identifying things. Sent the images to Cindy at Kenstan and she thinks it is one of their private label restricted keys. She is sending me a sample cut key to test.

The lock doesn't look like the typical Chicago lock which generally just have the plug showing. No luck, the cabinets supposedly have no identifying marks to make obtaining keys more difficult. No serial numbers, no labels. The county actually completely disassembled a cabinet looking for a manufacturer.

I am able to make working keys, but not able to make duplicates from originals.

Those file cabinets spawned from somewhere. If it is a county government, ask them to have their accounting or purchasing staff look through old records to determine when and from whom they were purchased. This will help you identify the contract furniture manufacturer who built them.

That was my first thought, but I have some Kenstan B keyway plugs and keys and this isn't the same.
