I have an old Yale safe. I was dumb and but instructions in empty jar and in hiding spot. However, jar rolled out of reach. I wrote down the combination in another location and have the first number is 75 second number is 45 and third number is 11 Problem is i can't remember if the last number is 0 and I don't remember the L, R,L or R, L, R and how many turns. Dial has "00" then Yale then "82795" on bottom

With the little information you provided about your safe the lock will probably stop itself, when it is open. The number of rotations should be 4, 3, 2. With Yale the direction can be both, i.e. either 4L-3R-2L-R to stop or 4R-3L-2R-L to stop. The second direction is maybe more likely in your case. And 4 mean to pass the number 3 times and stop on the 4th time, then reverse direction. The same style of counting for 3 and 2. YT video about opening a lock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEYjgOFKR1UThis is the standard opening sequence. Yours needs probably the opposite direction.

Need to know if you have Gold and Cash int the Safe, and Address Seriously, since you Posted Combo, hopefully you get it opened quick if anything of Value inside, I would get a Change Key, watch a couple videos on it, after changing, try a couple times to be sure before actually closing. Maybe enter as part of a Fictitious phone number. Good Luck. I like to say stop on 3rd time, as opposed to passing 3 times. Even with correct combo, any wheel, wrong number of turns, won't get you in. Good Luck

To those that posed ideas thank you, so far no luck.
Thanks, don't worry that is not the actual combo.
So far no luck, I will try more tomorrow. After I try about 10 times I get frustrated. I'm still searching for the original instructions, I used a camera to inspect area where I thought they were and no sign. I will check other places too.
Some more information on the safe is 19 1/4 Wide, 19 3/8 Deep, 23 1/2 inches tall with the wheels. Two hinges on the right side. Color is dark green crackle finish. I would say its pre 1970, my guess 1945-60's

Think you're close, watch a couple more safe dialing instructions on YouTube, But like mentioned, not just LRLR, Also do RLRL. Dial should stop, after correct combo

I know, it is difficult to show photos here. So can you perhaps find photos of a safe like yours in the internet, which you can show us? Because your description is not helping much.

I have to disagree. Sure, we don't allow direct uploads, because that would make the database and backups really big, but the OP can upload it to their drop box, Onedrive, google drive, facebook, twitter, instagram, imgbb.com or imgur.com and copy/paste the link here. I agree that the process is not convenient, but it is not that difficult either. Here is a photo I uploaded to imgbb.com, took 5 seconds, then dropped down to use phpbb code and here it is and I copy/pasted that URL link from above https://i.ibb.co/pjrrBN8/992fd6660aa5be44292821b09ff402c8.jpg into the reply so that the forums software can display it: Respectfully, Squelchtone

You are right, it is not that bad. imgbb.com looks quite friendly.

Can you try: 1) 3L, 2R, 1L, R to stop 2) 3R, 2L, R to stop with just the first two numbers of your combo
This might be a Schwab fire safe.

So far I tried all of these ideas with no luck and I looked at youtube and tried a few more with out any luck.
On youtube they talk about a Class 2 lock, I am wondering how many different ways of turning the dial on a Class 2 can be?
Also, what if the lock is not a class 2?

Most Group 1 and Group 2M locks dial the same as the Group 2 locks. Some Group 1 locks have a special operation at the end, i.e. pull or push the spring loaded dial or turn a small knob on the dial. I am sure your lock is nothing of these. The normal locks distinguish by starting direction and number of wheels. Existing combinations can be for the wrong starting direction making them one number longer.

There is an alternate thing you could try that helps the vast majority that can't get into their safes, call a locksmith to open it for you
