Trouble with lockpicking door with keyhole

Postby Gveshs » 26 Aug 2021 16:15

Hello,

I am having trouble lockpicking a door in my house than was accidentally locked from the inside. There is a hole on the side of the doorknob but it doesn't seem to have any sort of mechanism in it. I tried using a screwdriver and pushing it in the hole but nothing happened. So my only bet was to pick the lock. I managed to create a rake and a tension wench out of paper clips. I kept raking the pins until the keyhole turned. The keyhole turned 90 clockwise and stopped. I couldn't open the door nor turn the knob. Below is a link to the picture of the keyhole below.

The good news is you actually managed to pick the lock
The bad news is you picked it towards the right, instead of the left

Wait so I was supposed to turn it counter clockwise?

CCW to unlock
CW to lock, at least on that knob, some go the opposite direction--this might be a good time for a

Plug spinner

This spins the cylinder in the other direction, your other option is to lock it & pick it in the other direction
