Hi all.
Am a lockpicking newbie but loving my new hobby so far.
My next challenge is to try to open our household safe using the emergency override lock.
However I dont know how to identify what type of lock it is and what equipment I will need.
I have added a pic to help you chaps answer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so muchImage

Hi!

First of all it is not recommended to pick locks in use. If the lock breaks it can very much stop the use. With safes and new forum members people are also reluctant to help getting possibly unauthorized access.

And in this case I don't see an override lock. So I can't say anything about it. But I suspect questions about this kind of lock will be better placed into the Pick-Fu section.

Ok. Thanks for the reply.
I believe according to our manual the overide lock is just below the keypad. Currently covered by the small rectangle semi transparent plastic.
It's not an expensive safe and we never use it so have been given permission from the missus to have a play with it. Haha!
Anyway, thanks for the advice Martin.

You could remove the back of the door and have look how it is constructed. There you should easily see where the lock is located.

The override key on your safe looks like a double bitted key. You would need special tools to pick it. Not a beginners job, I'm afraid.

Enjoy this promotional video from your safe's manufacturer:

Might be an Italian middle-tension lock.

Ok chaps. Thanks for the help.
Looks like maybe my enthusiasm is getting the better of me. Hahaha.
Will stick to practice locks for a while.
