Looking to design a tool for the lishi cutter

Postby david132 » 26 Sep 2021 3:22

Hey guys, I am looking to make a tool for the lishi cutters, something that will allow you to cut to appropriate depth and space for several residential keys.
I know there are some already made on ebay, but I am looking to design my own and something i can 3d print or whatever on my own terms without having to buy a replacement.

I was thinking about getting laser engraving done on keyblanks with the depth and spacing so you can just cut it out that way, but I don't know if that would be expensive.

Anyone interested in helping me out, for pay of course, hit me up!

A company makes "Clipper Keys", is what you are describing, I always thought it would be a Good Idea, when I would talk about the Idea. Couldn't find anyone to agree. Think they are Aluminum? Was thinking it might be good for Impressioning, wouldn't have to go slowly depths.
I have that Cutter, wish it was good for Schlage or Kwikset. You can use a Vice Grip to clamp a blank next to a depth key, make a couple cuts for Schlage, Then a Little filing.
