Light or heavy pressure

Hi,
I am a beginner in lockpicking and I have a question should I use heavy or light tension when picking locks. I read in the literature that I should use light tension, but Lock Picking Lawyer recommends heavy tension.



So which one to choose?

Each lock is different, as is each picker. Some locks respond to very little tension, some work very well with heavy tension. It really varies. I'd recommend starting with light tension. Gradually increase tension until you feel the pins setting.

As a newbie, I found that I was applying wayyyyy to much tension in the beginning. I literally laid my finger across my tension wrench and only then was I able to pick my first lock.
